The hot weather has been creeping in slowly and it looks like it's finally here to stay. While I don't prefer the heat over the cold, I do love summer activities and I especially love how green and beautiful our backyard is in those first summer months. We have been spending a lot of time outside, soaking up the sun and the view.
Phil was mowing the lawn one morning. Grant didn't even flinch when that mower went by. He's not afraid of anything.
We turned on the sprinklers and ate popsicles for family night when the heat was almost unbearable.
Phil checks all the plants every night when he gets home from work. Grant loves to assist him. When he hears Phil pull into the garage, he runs to the back door repeating "Da-da" over and over, waiting for Phil to take him to the garden. He gets mad when Phil takes too long.
Phil is quite the gardener. I love watching him care for our garden and landscaping. He does it all himself.
Grant is always outside. He loves these rock steps next to the garden, church clothes or not.
Henry found a caterpillar that he literally loved to death.
Jack loves basketball. He practices and practices dribbling and shooting. He has improved so much on his own. He started a basketball camp this month and is now learning even more.
We escaped to the pool last week. Phil's gym has a pretty posh swimming area. He took the afternoon off and took us as his guests. We ate lunch and lounged in the sun. It was a nice poolside initiation.
Also planned for this summer: a kitchen remodel, a new job for Phil, baseball games, a sports camp for Henry, concerts, camping, and a family reunion.
