The Last of June

This past week sure has been a busy one for our little family. As the boys grow and grow, they become more and more interactive. The boys love to talk to their dad. They talk and coo and giggle and smile all over the place! Henry has discovered his hand, sucks on his thumb, and uses the arm rest on the couch now to, well, rest his arm. (Jack's not too far behind him in picking up all these mad skills). Both Jack and Henry really like sitting up against the back of the couch, I guess it makes them feel all grown up. It usually does the trick if they're fussing. I think it's about time to get them a bumbo seat!





Over the weekend the boys enjoyed helping their dad mow the lawn, if you consider hanging out on the hammock actually helping. Phil made a little bed for them in the hammock where they layed until the sound of the lawnmower lulled them to sleep. They really love being outside, which is good because they are going to be hiking and camping and hunting the second they are old enough to do so with their dad! That afternoon we went to visit Great-grandpa Jack in the hospital. Grandpa-great was a riot and the visit was so much fun! The boys just love their great grandparents!






Today was less enjoyable because the boys had to get their two month shots. They only cried for a minute, but the effects of the shots lasted all day long. They both ran fevers of 101 and wanted to be held all afternoon. It made me so sad to see them like that, so of course I gave into their every whimper and whine! There's nothing better than having a little baby fall dead asleep on your shoulder. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. On the bright side, we finally found out the boys' weight and length (everyone has been asking and I couldn't even venture a guess). Jack is 24 inches long and weighs 10lbs 4oz. Henry is 23 inches long and weighs 11lbs 6oz. They're growing! Yippee!


(The boys stripped down to their diapers when their fevers spiked. Henry handled it a little better than his bro.)
